Recent information has been released by Transport Scotland outlining thoughts on how to ‘kit-out’ the proposed Class 153 single carriage units for the transport of Cycle, Ski and other outdoor sports equipment on Scotland’ scenic railway routes. The proposal is to add the 153 carriage to the current 156 DMUs serving the West Highland Lines. (Refer to recent Post for more details). The proposal includes a special coach livery, some seated accommodation and a self service coffee and sandwich bar.The first unit is likely to be on the line serving Oban with other units coming later on the Glasgow – Fort William, Inverness – Kyle and Inverness
– Wick & Thurso lines.
